Romania – 47th most competitive economy in the world
Romania continues to be 47th in the rankings of the most competitive economies in the world, according to the annual report published on Wednesday by the Management and Development Institute (IMD) based in Lausanne, Switzerland. Romania outranks countries such as Hungary (48th), Slovenia (49th), Greece (50th) and Bulgaria (55th) but is outranked by Slovakia (46th), Russia (45th), Turkey (40th) and Poland (33rd), Agerpres informs.
The United States is the most competitive economy in the world, outranking Hong Kong, Singapore, Switzerland, Canada, Luxembourg, Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Germany. Romania’s score represents 57.133 per cent of the competitiveness of the United States, taken as the reference level, the report shows.The World Competitiveness Yearbook (WCY) report is published annually since 1989 and analyzes the competitiveness of economies based on almost 350 criteria. The indicators are grouped in four categories – economic performance, government efficiency, business efficiency and infrastructure.Tags: Management and Development Institute
