Ionut Budisteanu wins first prize in Intel technology design contest

The young Romanian investor – Ionut Budisteanu, one of the most talented in his generation, has won the first prize in a technology design contest organized by Intel. The competition took place in Shanghai, China. For Budisteanu it was the first student electronic contest, and as he wrote on his blog – an amazing experience. Ionut is interested in artificial intelligence systems. He achieved his prize for developing the smart surveillance system, that process the image in order to recognize the moving objects. His system is able to recognize pedestrians, cars, animals, and almost anything that is not static. In his system Budisteanu used very powerful computer device board provided by Intel. The young inventor was famous before. In 2013 he won the first place and USD 75.000 at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair for high school students. This prize was also an effect of using artificial intelligence to identify objects. In November 2013, Budisteanu was listed among 16 most influential teenagers in the world – ranking developed by Time Magazine.Tags: ,
